Why People Choose the KB-M3-04

World’s First Dual PoE++

The only MoCA 2.5 adapter combining dual 2.5GbE ports with 802.3bt PoE++ power delivery — up to 90W per port, 120W total budget.

Real, tested throughput

iperf-verified 2.5 Gbps performance on both ports simultaneously, even with up to 50 dB of cable attenuation. Built on the MaxLinear MxL3710.

Serious power budget

120W total PoE++ budget — enough for Wi-Fi 7 access points, PTZ cameras, IP displays, and network switches, all from one adapter.

Intelligent thermal control

Engineered to deliver 120W of PoE++ power silently and reliably. No fans, no noise — just continuous, cool operation.

No extra switch needed

Two built-in 2.5GbE ports means you can connect two high-power devices directly — no additional switch, no clutter, no extra cost.

Backward compatible

Works alongside MoCA 1.1 / 2.0 / 2.5 gear and supports PoE, PoE+, and PoE++ devices. Auto-detects the right power level.

Typical setup: a Wi-Fi 7 access point plus a PTZ security camera — both powered and connected from a single coax outlet.

Engineered for 120W of silent power

We don’t just add PoE++ — we engineer for it. Every watt is thermally accounted for, so it runs cool, quiet, and 24/7.

802.3bt PoE++ (Class 8)

Up to 90W per port, 120W total budget — enough for the most demanding access points and PTZ cameras.

Fanless Thermal Design

Custom-engineered thermal architecture keeps the PoE chipset cool under full load. Zero fans, zero noise.

MxL3710 + GPY211

Industry-leading MaxLinear MoCA SoC paired with dual 2.5G PHYs for stable, full-rate links on both ports.

Up to 16 Nodes

Scale a single MoCA network across the whole home or office, including the network coordinator.

Common questions before you buy

“Will it power my Wi-Fi 7 access point?”

Yes — up to 90W per port of PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt / Class 8), enough for virtually any Wi-Fi 6E/7 access point, including high-power tri-band models.

“Can I use both ports at the same time?”

Absolutely. Both 2.5GbE ports run simultaneously, each with independent PoE++ power. The 120W total budget is shared intelligently between ports.

“Is setup complicated?”

No — connect coax and Ethernet cables, and both data and power are live on both ports. No configuration required for typical use.

“Does it get hot with 120W of PoE?”

No — the intelligent thermal design dissipates heat passively through the chassis. It runs cool and silent with zero fans.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between PoE+ and PoE++?
PoE+ (802.3at) delivers up to 25.5W — enough for most standard Wi-Fi 6 access points and basic IP cameras. PoE++ (802.3bt / Class 8) delivers up to 90W per port — enough for high-power Wi-Fi 7 tri-band APs, PTZ cameras with heaters, IP displays, and small network switches. The KB-M3-04 supports both and auto-detects the right power level.
Can both ports deliver full 90W at the same time?
The KB-M3-04 has a 120W total PoE budget shared intelligently between the two ports. If one device draws 90W, the other can draw up to 30W. For most use cases — like a Wi-Fi 7 AP (~20W) plus a PTZ camera (~30W) — both run well within the budget simultaneously.
Is the D-Band adapter compatible with Xfinity/Comcast cable modems?
Yes, operating at 1125–1675 MHz, it coexists with DOCSIS cable modems. Disable any built-in MoCA in your gateway to prevent conflicts.
Will it work with my existing PoE+ or PoE devices?
Yes — PoE++ is fully backward compatible with PoE+ (802.3at) and standard PoE (802.3af). The adapter automatically detects what the connected device needs and delivers the correct power level.
What speeds can I expect in real-world use?
You can achieve real 2.5 Gbps speeds per port as tested by iperf, even with up to 50 dB attenuation, depending on cable quality and distance. Both ports can run at full speed simultaneously.
Will this work in apartments or condos with shared coax?
Yes, provided MoCA privacy is enabled and a Point of Entry filter is installed to mitigate interference from neighbors.
Is it backward compatible with older MoCA devices?
Yes, it works with MoCA 1.1, 2.0, and 2.5 devices, but network speed is limited to the slowest device.
Can I mix this adapter with other MoCA brands?
You can mix with other MoCA devices operating on D-Band frequencies supporting MoCA 2.5, for compatible performance.
Does it run hot? Is there a fan?
No fan — completely silent. The chassis is engineered as a passive heat sink with intelligent thermal management. It stays cool to the touch even under full 120W PoE++ load.
How do I enable MoCA encryption?
MoCA encryption is off by default. To enable it: log into the first adapter, open the “Security settings” menu, enable “D-Ext” under Network Security Setup and set your password, then save and reboot. For additional adapters, press the MPS button on the first adapter, then press MPS on each other adapter within 2 minutes — they’ll pair automatically and copy the encryption settings, securing your MoCA network.

Setup & Tutorial Videos

► Configure MoCA in D-Band High to eliminate DOCSIS 3.1 interference

Shift to D-band High (1350–1675 MHz) to avoid overlap with DOCSIS 3.1 modems/routers that reach up to 1218 MHz. Update every MoCA device to the same D-band High setting and LOF value for a solid, interference-free connection.

  1. Open the MoCA settings on each adapter via its web interface.
  2. Set the frequency band to D-band High (1350–1675 MHz).
  3. Apply the 1400 MHz LOF value on every MoCA device.
  4. Repeat for all adapters in the network.
  5. Restart each device to apply the new settings.
  6. Reconnect everything and confirm MoCA link lights are solid and performance is stable.
